As you know, we at Cornerstone Private Asset Trust Company, LLC provide independent and personalized trust services.  While we can serve as trustee for any type of trust whether it is in existence while you are living or established upon death, we can also serve as a personal representative for estates.  We can simply be appointed as the personal representative or we can act as the agent for the individual representative.

Administering an estate can be time consuming, costly and down-right frustrating if you are unsure of the proper steps that need to be taken.  Cornerstone will help you.  Not only can we save you from the frustration and worry of settling a loved one’s estate, more importantly we can save you time.  We will be the liaison with the attorney and make sure the personal representative is appointed with the court.  We will handle marshaling the assets, payment of creditors and estate expenses, accounting for receipts and disbursements, preparing final income, estate and fiduciary tax returns, and, of course, distributing assets to the appropriate beneficiaries according to the will or trust document. 

Not only does the property need to be protected, but the fiduciaries of the estate need to be, as well.  It is important that the personal representative keep complete records and act in accordance with the powers under which they were appointed.

Estate administration can be very complicated.  We want to be your advocate; especially when you are coping with the loss of a loved-one.
